Changes at Aspire Computers Ltd

Aspire Computers Ltd are making some changes. We’d like to explain how this will affect you, our clients.

Three years ago, we joined forces with Roz Healey from Beech Web Services to recruit and train an apprentice web developer so we could offer websites and digital marketing services to our customers.

This proved to be hugely successful and anyone who has had contact with the talented Sophy since then will know that objective has been well and truly achieved!

Effective from 1st September, Roz and Sophy are about to stand alone as Beech Web Services and become a separate entity to focus solely on websites and social media work.

All website and social media clients and contracts will be transferred over from Aspire Computers to Beech Web Services and those services will continue unchanged.

However, the name on your invoices from that date will be Beech Web Services.

Roz and Sophy can be contacted as usual on their mobiles, or via the new landline number 01925 387040.

Aside from that, it’s business as usual, with the same team providing exactly the same web and social media services.

All Aspire IT support services are unaffected by this change.

Please do not hesitate to contact any of the Aspire team if you have any questions about the changes.

Aspire Computers and Beech Web Services will remain important business partners.

We will still be working closely together and continue to provide excellent services for our clients.

We know Roz and Sophy are very excited about their future plans and we all wish them the best of luck in their new venture!

Managing Director

Step by Step Guide to Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Step by Step Guide to your free upgrade to Windows 10.

As you may or may not know Microsoft is ending their support for Windows 7 on the January 14, 2020. If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide support or security updates for your business. We recommend you follow the steps below and carry out a FREE upgrade to Windows 10. If you do not feel comfortable doing this we can carry out this upgrade for you at a discounted cost of £30.00+VAT per PC.

1 - Please click on the following link - Microsoft Windows 10 Link

2 - Now click on the 'Download tool now' button as circled below:

3 - Depending on which internet browser you are using it may ask you whether you want to save the file. Please save the file into your downloads (which will probably be the default location anyway).

4 - Next please browse to your downloads through the file explorer and here you will see the saved Media Creation Tool. Please double click this in order to run the application.

5 - The Windows 10 Setup will then begin. If you follow the steps through, the Windows 10 upgrade will soon begin.

6 - After accepting the terms, the installer will ask you whether you want to keep your files as shown below. Please make sure that you choose to keep your files and Windows settings.

7 - The installation will then begin, and the computer will eventually restart and then continue with the install. The PC will then restart again with Windows 10 now installed. (Please be aware that the download process can take a while to complete and depending on your internet speed it can take up to a couple of hours.)

Windows 10 should now be successfully installed on your PC. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Work Experience Week at Aspire Computers

Work experience week (24th June - 28th June) has provided us with the pleasure of introducing two bright and enthusiastic young individuals to the world of IT support and digital marketing.

Dan and Tom, A level students from Lymm High School, were both very keen to learn about Aspire Computers.

Dan was placed with the IT Support team and Tom was placed with Roz and Sophy on the web and social media team.

Ethan showed Dan day to day running of the helpdesk. He also experienced some of the more complex challenges faced by an IT support company, and their solutions.

Tom learned about the team’s background, and the challenges faced. He was introduced to technical tools such as Google Analytics, and FTP - topics that Tom caught onto very quickly. Over the week, Tom built his own complex website showcasing all the knowledge he had gained. He also successfully completed a Google Digital Garage Certification in a fraction of the recommended time!

Both Dan and Tom were a pleasure to have in the office.  They behaved in a well-mannered and professional way, and were determined to make the most of the week with us. They fitted well into the team and shared many laughs! We hope the experience was useful for them and wish them every success in their studies and future careers.

Roz Healey does us proud at the Warrington 10K running event

On Sunday (16th September 2018), our very own Roz Healey took part in the English Half Marathon & 10K running event around the centre of Warrington. It was her very first 10K event so she was understandably nervous but proud to be running as part of the Warrington Worldwide team raising funds for the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation. Her aim was to raise as much money as possible and be able to run the whole course without stopping, which she did!

Roz said "I'm still buzzing and absolutely loved the event. It was very emotional and I had a lump in my throat when
running through the site of the Warrington bombing. I was happy to be in the Warrington Worldwide team, supporting the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation.".

Sophy Bostock also came to the event as Roz's support team and said "The event was fantastic and put together extremely well. Roz did an absolutely spectacular job, couldn't be prouder of her. It made having to get up at 7.00am worth it, to see her cross the Golden Gates finish line!"

She achieved a time of 1 hour 7 minutes which is a great result for a first timer! Well done Roz, we’re so proud of you! If you’d like to support Roz in her fundraising efforts it’s not too late to donate online. Not far to go to reach the £5,000 target!
